Remove Product Build Up from Hair Naturally!

Hair sprays, spritzes, mousses and gels create the look I want, however they can build up over time and make my hair dull and flat. Styling products don't dissolve completely when I shampoo.
The best way to remove product build-up from the hair is to provide more in-depth cleansing than usual. The use of a clarifying shampoo once a week is a really good beauty habit to develop.
If you don't want to purchase another bottle of shampoo head to your kitchen for some baking soda.
Once a week, I add a teaspoon of baking soda to the amount of shampoo I normally use and mix it all up in the palm of my hand, lather and rinse. Yes, it's that easy!
I started using the baking soda trick years ago when my daughter was on a swim team. The ends of her hair were split, dry and lighter in color from the damage caused by chlorine build up. Another mom recommended the baking soda routine. By the way, thanks other swim mom for sharing your wisdom!
Regardless of your hair length or styling routine, product builds up. Fight it naturally and gently with a key ingredient from the kitchen. It works well for me.
What do you use to fight product build up? Would love to hear what else works. Share your wisdom and comment below.

Sister Sky's Shampoo & Conditioner are Silicone Free

How will you know if your hair products contain silicone? As a rule of thumb, any chemical listed on the label that ends in "cone" is a silicone; dimethicone, cyclomethicone, and phenyl trimethicone are some common ones.
To improve the health of your hair consider avoiding excessive use of silicone-based hair products. You may also try rotating the use of a clarifying shampoo which removes excessive silicone buildup in your hair.
Sister Sky's Shampoo and Conditioners are silicone free. Gentle, natural, botanical based hair care that nourishes with natural additives like wheat protein and Pro-Vitamin B5. To learn more visit our website at www.sistersky.com

Sister Sky turns 13!
I reflect a lot about the enthusiasm we had at the beginning for our business. If you asked me what the magic ingredient is to get through the start up stage in business I would say your ability to remain positive and enthusiastic. Sometimes I have to recall that ability today to fortify me against doubt while growing a company. Happy birthday Sister Sky. 13 is the luckiest number we know!
